We at the Sustainable Development Network, support many NGO's, some of whom are listed in our Network Page. We will be adding more to this page in the coming months. There are many ways you can help to support us.
For Example - many of our network affiliates support orphans and vulnerable children, victims of domestic violence, the homeless, the elderly and others in need.
Mrs.Serokana Maepa is a Gogo (Grandma/Ouma) who has lost four children to AIDS. She is nearly 70 years old, and looks after her 12 grand-childrenwithout any family support. Gogo Maepa is one of many elderly South Africans who are struggling with the devastating effects of HIV and AIDS. We of the Sustainable Development Network are appealing to all of our neighbours to assist us by donating any of the following items, which will be distributed to charitable organisations assisting people like GogoMaepa.
- Previously loved toys; clothing; shoes, books or play equipment for children.
- 2nd hand computers or electronic equipment for NGOs that provide necessary support services to orphans, vulnerable children, the needy in South Africa.
- Unwanted (but in good condition) household items that can be sold at our second hand shop – all proceeds from which will be donated to charities.
You can also make a difference in the lives of the unfortunate by making financial donations. You can provide once-off financial gifts or become a regular donor.
- For as little as R50 per month you can sponsor a needy child’s crèche or school fees.
- For as little as R300 per month you can provide household or crèche assistance for needy children.
- For as little as R500 per month you can support a Community Care Worker who provides psycho-social support services in needy communities.
Imagine what we could do if we all just gave a little!!!
